If you can remember it, this time last year Australia was experiencing one of its worst summers of wild fires. The fires dominated the world news and people from all over were coming together to help repair the areas that were burnt down. One particular area that was hit hard by the wild fires was Kangaroo Island in South Australia. Now, a year later, the land is experiencing a bloom of regeneration!
Much of this regeneration is due to the island’s conservation efforts. Many of the local businesses, including one of our partners Exceptional Kangaroo Island, have a deep appreciation for the natural environment that makes KI a beautiful home not just for its people but also for its wildlife. Craig, the Owner and Managing Director of Exceptional Kangaroo Island, has made eco-tourism a high priority within his business and has truly impressed upon everyone the value of ‘wildlife in the wild’. And there is so much wildlife to explore on KI!

While one of our favorite luxury properties Southern Ocean Lodge was destroyed by the fires, there are plenty of luxury properties still open to stay at and truly enjoy the surroundings of being on Kangaroo Island. Two of our favorites are Sea Dragon Lodge & Villas and Oceanview Eco Villas.
Sea Dragon: A boutique retreat set on 250 seafront acres, Sea Dragon offers a variety of accommodation options. From their 1 bedroom villas to ‘The Lodge’, a 2 to 4 bedroom retreat, each room is designed with luxury and comfort in mind.
