Our recent trip to Africa took us to the newly refurbished MalaMala. Always our favorite camp in the Sabi Sand, MalaMala has made this superb camp even better.

The suites have beautiful new furnishings and spectacular bathrooms with double sinks, indoor and outdoor showers, a huge bath tub and loo.

Although laundry is done daily the closet space is huge and on both sides of the room. A desk is placed on one side with a fridge as all beverages are included.

Balconies and decks have comfortable furniture to enjoy the river or the waterhole and the main deck has been expanded to offer great river views.

There is too much food! A small snack before your morning game drive followed by a full breakfast, then lunch, tea before the afternoon activities. Then, back to camp for dinner!

The staff have not changed at all. Still the wonderful, friendly people looking after your every need.

The gift shop has been expanded to include a very wide range of product and shipping home is offered as well.

Rattray’s Camp is absolutely superb with total privacy and game drives with only 4 per vehicle compared with 6 at Main and Sable camps.

The game viewing is the best. The rangers know the bush so well and even on their days off you can see them scouting around seeing what is going on with all the prides and animal groups.
