We are thrilled to welcome Sarah to our Esplanade family. Here is her story:

Hello to everyone at Esplanade, I’m Sarah and I am so excited to be part of the Esplanade team as the new Visa and Insurance Specialist! While I am sad to have left my college years behind, I am thrilled to be back in my hometown of Boston working for such an amazing company. I am a recent graduate of Elon University, a book nerd, an old soul, and a travel enthusiast!

My desire to travel and see the world started early on in life when at the age of three I decided I wanted to go to Paris to learn French and meet the fictional character Madeline. While I have yet to fulfill this dream, my studies have taken me all over the world and introduced me to new and exciting cultures. Perhaps the most formative and influential experience began while I was in school, deciding what I wanted to major in. I entered my freshman year at Elon thinking I would be a sociology major and spend a semester in Spain traveling around Europe.

This all changed when during my sophomore year of school I decided to try studying Arabic. I have always been fascinated with Middle Eastern culture and love studying languages, so I thought I would give it a try. I entered class on my first day and never looked back. Through Arabic I found a passion academically, aspirations for my future, and a group of people that would become like a family to me. It was because of this experience that I decided to put my language skills to the test by spending a semester in Amman, Jordan.

While in Jordan I studied Diplomacy and Policy, meeting with many government agencies and even the former Crown Prince Hassan himself. I had the opportunity to live and experience the culture firsthand, as well as observe the ongoing political situation, such as the time I went to visit Syrian refugees. One of my favorite experiences in Jordan was camping out in the desert of Wadi Rum. It is truly one of the most beautiful and surreal places I have ever been. I also thoroughly enjoyed eating my weight in hummus. I will never forget the kindness and hospitality that the Jordanian people showed me.

Some of my other favorite places I have traveled are Istanbul and Tibet; however, I plan to add many more to that list. In the future I plan to travel to every single continent, learn many more languages, and share my experiences with fellow travel enthusiasts. For now, though, I am looking forward to helping all of you with your visa and insurance needs!

Our travels started back in March of 2020. Our trip started and included a great week in Tahiti then New Zealand. Although that’s when Covid exploded while we were there in Tahiti. That’s when we found out they had closed the border into NZ. Thankfully we had Esplanade to get us back home. We finally got back on track to New Zealand this March. We had a full itinerary planned. When we arrived, we had a driver waiting for us to take us to our Glamorous hotel with a great view of Queenstown, Lake Wakatipu and the Mountains in the background. We traveled to Milford Sound by bus then traveled thru out the scenic Milford Sound. Then they flew us back to our hotel. Another trip was on a Steamboat that took us to Farm. We had a great dinner there and tour of the farm that included the sheep dogs working the sheep. We could go on and on about this trip. The people from NZ our super nice. This trip was great from start to finish. Truly a bucket list trip. Esplanade will definitely be our choice for international travel, without a doubt. <br />
