We typically think of a safari excursion on ground in a vehicle, however there is another way to do it – by plane! Appreciate the vast landscapes and stunning wildlife that is home to Namibia by sitting high up in the sky. With a few short flights you can cover all areas from dunes and desert to the coast spending two nights at each destination. This is a great way to enjoy a Namibian safari at an affordable rate that is fully customizable.

You’ll fly internationally into Windhoek and from there your first flight will take you to the NamibRand Natural Reserve, just south of Sossusvlei. Explore the boundless wilderness of The NamibRand Nature Reserve. Here, you’ll want to keep a lookout for springbok, oryx and the rarer aardwolf. If you’re on the hunt for birds make sure to ask your guide about the dune lark – found only in Namibia! As soon as the sun goes down, prepare to be mesmerized by the lit up starry sky.

For your next flight, you’ll soar over the Eduard Bohlen Shipwreck, Conception Bay and Sandwich Harbor before touching down in Swakopmund for a lunch on the beach. From there, you’ll head inland to Kaokoland- the beautiful interior of the country. This is Namibia’s most remote and wild environment. It is home to  various landscapes including mountains, sand dunes, and vast deserts. The desert adapted elephants and giraffes are nothing short of fascinating to watch as they have had to acclimate to a harsh desert life. Also, take the opportunity to track a black Rhino or spot a nomadic Himba settlement.

You’ll return to the ground for the last part of the trip with a road transfer to where the sand meets the sea. The Skeleton Coast is made up of unique rock formations and endless rolling waves. Elephants are to be found digging in the sand while brown hyenas saunter around. Along the coast you’ll be sure to hear the harp of the Cape Fur Seals at Mowe Bay! From here it is either back to Windhoek for a departure flight home or there is the option to extend onto Etosha which holds the highest concentration of animals in Namibia.

As you start to plan your next vacation, we encourage you to take advantage of this wonderful flying safari Esplanade can offer you. With an affordable rate and the ability to fully customize, your dream of exploring Namibia can come true. For more information, please contact  Jacky.

Get in Touch

Our travels started back in March of 2020. Our trip started and included a great week in Tahiti then New Zealand. Although that’s when Covid exploded while we were there in Tahiti. That’s when we found out they had closed the border into NZ. Thankfully we had Esplanade to get us back home. We finally got back on track to New Zealand this March. We had a full itinerary planned. When we arrived, we had a driver waiting for us to take us to our Glamorous hotel with a great view of Queenstown, Lake Wakatipu and the Mountains in the background. We traveled to Milford Sound by bus then traveled thru out the scenic Milford Sound. Then they flew us back to our hotel. Another trip was on a Steamboat that took us to Farm. We had a great dinner there and tour of the farm that included the sheep dogs working the sheep. We could go on and on about this trip. The people from NZ our super nice. This trip was great from start to finish. Truly a bucket list trip. Esplanade will definitely be our choice for international travel, without a doubt. <br />
