As we approach our 66th year here at Esplanade, we thought it would be fun to look back through our old documents. We discovered old brochures, maps, itineraries, airline tickets, and so much more. Take a look at some of our favorites below!
These pictures bring back such happy memories of travels in the 60’s and 70’s. Lebanon was fun and exciting with archaeological sites and a vibrant coast. A short drive into Syria and Damascus with visits to Krak des Chevaliers the best crusader castle. Our tours of Pakistan continued through the Khyber Pass into Afghanistan with history and dramatic landscapes making for a wonderful experience.
Before computers wrote tickets with a press of a button, we had to hand write and had a box of airline plates to validate the ticket. These are some of the airlines we used, and some that we still do! Northeast Airlines was the route from the northeast to Florida.
We had a wonderful collection of land tours in France taking each region and visiting it in depth. Ile de France & Normandy, Medieval France, all with fabulous food and wine and a cruise on the Canal du Midi visiting Carcassonne and the Camargue.
