Kit joined Esplanade Travel in 2006 and has traveled extensively throughout Australia and the South Pacific as well as living for over a year in New Zealand. Kit is a certified Aussie, Kiwi and Tahiti Tiare Specialist.
Kit’s love of travel began at the age of 5 when she was taught how to read an atlas and became chief navigator as she drove up and down the east coast with her father. Multiple family trips to Mexico solidified her love of travel, and she now can’t imagine working in any other industry. Her unique gift to inspire others and work through difficult logistics, plus her insatiable desire to explore, make her one of the most valuable travel consultants in the country – evidenced by her Top 30 Under 30 Travel Agent Award, given by Travel Agent Magazine.
Why Kit Loves Working at Esplanade
“I love introducing people to new places and changing their lives in a positive way through travel. I love hearing the excitement click into someone’s voice during a phone call, I love surprising clients with treats at various destinations, and having the connections to really make something out of the ordinary happen. I love that even though I’m working in an office in Boston (which I never, ever anticipated), my brain is all over the world every day.”
When working with clients, Kit keeps her personal travel philosophy in mind: Life is always better when you have tickets, and the hardest part of any trip is from your front door to the end of your driveway.
One of her proudest moments at Esplanade was planning a 50th wedding anniversary trip for some of her favorite clients that covered three countries over three weeks. Their children and partners joined them at various points for various lengths of stay. She organized gifts and surprises and goodies all along the way, used every means of transport you can imagine, set up fantastic private guides and VIP admissions, as well as surprise gifts from their children all along the way, birthday cakes and other family celebrations that fell during the trip dates, and everything went off without a hitch.
Kit’s advice to her clients is to just go – everyone needs to travel more!
