Amy’s love for travel was inspired by her parents, and then her grandparents. When the adults returned from their journeys, she loved flipping through the photos they took and hearing the stories of their experiences.
She took her love of photography, exploring new places, meeting new people, and made it her career. Amy opened her own portrait photography business and for 7 years she developed her skills in marketing, effectively growing her bookings. In deciding she wanted to implement more travel into her work, she began to market her business towards destination weddings and elopements. Her favorite jobs were “Adventure Sessions” where she would go on hikes with her clients to capture beautiful, authentic photos for them. This point is when she was sure she wanted to work in travel.
Amy’s Travel Experience
“International travel has always been a dream of mine, though it hasn’t always been attainable. Focusing on what I was able to do, I decided to explore my own country in depth. This is when I fell in love with exploring America’s National Parks. I hadn’t honestly recognized all the beautiful and varying landscapes we have on this continent.“
Travel taught Amy about living in the present. She loves that despite any cultural differences, humans are the same anywhere you go. Understanding their way of life helps you to understand your own. Life will always be unexpected, and some of the best experiences in life can grow from the worst.
