Like Sydney, there are many daytrips available from Melbourne, but all of these regions are also worth spending a few nights if you have the time to explore further. The dramatic coastline of the Great Ocean Road by car, helicopter, or multi-day guided walk, the spa country and foodie heaven of Daylesford, the wine, wildlife, and forested mountains of the Yarra Valley, or the penguins, dolphins, golf and farms of the Mornington Peninsula…decisions are difficult, but at least you can be sure that there aren’t any bad choices!
